Nanocrystals 

for Optoelectronics and Hydrogen Energy

We are particularly interested in understanding the physics and chemistry of colloidal nanocrystals at the nanometre scale. Our aim is to use colloidal chemical approaches to synthesise nanocrystals with controlled the size, shape and composition and use them for optoelectronics, energy harvesting and storage.

14 October 2021:

11 August 2021:

Dr. Guohua Jia was awarded the prestigious ARC Future Fellowship by the Australian Research Council.

15 July 2021:

Our paper “Quasi-solid-state self-assembly of 1D-branched ZnSe/ZnS quantum rods into parallel monorail-like continuous films for solar devices” was accepted in Nano Energy.

Our paper “Integrating Positive and Negative Thermal Quenching Effect for Ultrasensitive Ratiometric Temperature Sensing and Anti-counterfeiting” was accepted in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces.

18 April 2021:

Our paper “CoP imbedded g-C3N4 heterojunctions for highly efficient photo, electro and photoelectrochemical water splitting” was accepted in Journal of Colloid and Interface Science.

2 March 2021:

Our paper “Recent Advances in Non-contact External Field Assisted Photocatalysis: from Fundamentals to Applications” was accepted in ACS Catalysis.

8 Feburary 2021:

Our paper “Core/Shell Metal Halide Perovskite Nanocrsytals for Optoelectronic Applications” was accepted in Advanced Functional Materials.

6 January 2021:

30th Oct. 2015

Guohua was one of the only ten scientists in Chemical Sciences who were awarded the fiercely competitive Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) research grant from the Australian Research Council (ARC) in this 2015 funding round. Congratulations!
